System Overview LC-MALDI | 1D or 2D LC separations
Highly flexible LC configurations that support 1D or 2D LC separations.
2D LC typically uses a strong cation exchange coupled to a conventional reverse phase column.
Peptides loaded onto the SCX column are washed with a salt gradient onto the ODS column. This process is repeated until all bound peptides are eluted.

As the process is off line the MALDI analysis provides a higher sequence coverage as all peak data is taken into account (in automated LC/MS/MS ion exclusion strategies ions in closely related components are often missed).
