Bringing LC to MALDI technology
Delivers increased sequence coverage

Overview of the technology
  • The LC probe supports the addition of matrix solution and a rinse solution.
  • It has three concentric capillaries. The smallest capillary transports the LC eluent to the tip, the next largest capillary takes the matrix solution to the probe tip. The matrix solution flows outside the LC capillary and mixes with the LC eluent at the exit tip of the probe. The outermost duct is for flushing the LC probe.
  • When a spotting process is completed, the probe is cleaned using a rinse solution together with either air or nitrogen gas.
  • As the eluent flows to the end of the tip the droplet on the tip of the probe becomes larger. When the droplet grows to a certain size, the plate rises in the Z direction, and the droplet touches the plate and adheres to it. This process is repeated for multiple spot targets at regular time intervals to make a spotted sample plate.
