Key benefits and features

  • Ion generation. Using the pioneering technology developed on the AXIMA Curved Field Reflectron platforms, the ion source is designed to maximise ion generation and signal intensity using near-axis laser irradiation.
  • Precursor Ion Selection. Once ions are generated they are transmitted through grid-free ion optics (TOF1) to the novel ion gate where ions of interest are selected with high resolution.
  • Ion Fragmentation. Following precursor ion selection, ions are transferred to the collision cell for fragmentation. High energy MS/MS is achieved by collision induced dissociation (CID) of selected precursor ions, using helium as the collision gas.
  • Ion detection. The selected ions then pass to the gridless curved field reflectron for high resolution mass analysis and detection using an optimised, high performance transient recorder.
