Ion generation. Using the pioneering technology developed on the AXIMA Curved Field Reflectron platforms, the ion source is designed to maximise ion generation and signal intensity using near-axis laser irradiation.
Precursor Ion Selection. Once ions are generated they are transmitted through grid-free ion optics (TOF1) to the novel ion gate where ions of interest are selected with high resolution.
Ion Fragmentation. Following precursor ion selection, ions are transferred to the collision cell for fragmentation. High energy MS/MS is
achieved by collision induced dissociation (CID) of selected precursor ions, using helium as the collision gas.
Ion detection. The selected ions then pass to the gridless curved field reflectron for high resolution mass analysis and detection using an optimised, high performance transient recorder.
